So you’ve organised your pest control service, but what do you need  to do to be prepared for treatment? We’ve got the answers.

In this article, we’ll discuss what you need to do to be prepared ahead of your pest control treatment,and when to contact the team at Sun Dry for assistance.

What Can You Do to Prepare for Pest Control Treatment?

While there is not much you can do while we are actively treating your home, there are several things we recommend you do before the treatment to prepare. In this section, we’ll go through them in more detail.

Clean Affected Areas 

Clean the areas in which the service will be taking place prior to your pest control expert’s arrival. This includes washing and vacuuming floors, wiping over surfaces, computers and the like.

If your treatment is specifically for bed bugs, you will need to remove all bedding, clothing and linen from the room. Don’t forget about emptying your chest of drawers and cupboards.

Remove Clutter

The last thing we want to do is accidentally damage something that’s precious to you. As such, we recommend removing all trinkets and clutter from the area. This includes household items such as dishwashing racks, soap, shampoo etc.

Store Appliances

Any appliances you use on a regular basis like toasters, kettles and hair dryers should be safely packed away while your pest control treatment is completed.

Seal Food & Drinks

Before your pest control expert arrives, all food and drinks should be sealed and packed away until we’re finished. This includes any fruit you may have in a bowl on the kitchen counter.

Move Furniture

Sometimes, we have to access areas that are tricky to get to. For this reason, you should move all your furniture away from walls and doors to make the process easier.

If something cannot be moved and we need to work around it, please advise your pest control team ahead of time. 

Keep Children & Pets Away

While it is safe for pets and children to be in the house after pest control services are completed, we don’t recommend they be in the affected area while treatment is in progress.

Again, if this is not possible, please advise us ahead of time so we can arrange a workable solution.
