What Does Vinyl Stripping & Sealing Involve?
Vinyl stripping & sealing is a process of removing one or more layers of sealer, then cleaning the surface cleaning before resealing it. Depending on the condition of the floor, this can involve the removal of just some of the top layers, & the application of a new top layer, or the removal & resealing of all of the layers. Often during a regular maintenance program, the application of a new top layer is an intermediate step before we perform a full strip & seal of your vinyl floor. The amount of foot traffic is frequently a determining factor in the scheduling of cleaning & maintenance vinyl flooring.
Extend the Life of Vinyl Flooring with a Proper Cleaning Process
Overtime vinyl floors can lose their lustre or sheen as many layers of sealer becomes abraded & scuffed by regular high-quality layers of sealant are allowed to wear away then the surface of the vinyl can become permanently damaged & affect the longevity of your flooring.
At Sun Dry we use the best quality floor cleaning solutions, specifically created for the removal of floor polishes & sealers from vinyl floors. The stripper solution is applied onto the floor & sufficient time is allowed for the solution to soften the seal or polish. We then scrub the vinyl floor to remove the old layer (or layers as the case maybe) of sealer using a slow speed polisher with a stripping pad. Then the surface is then cleaned, “neutralised” (with a solution containing a PH neutralising additive) & finally dried; ready for the application of layers of a high-quality sealant. After applying multiple layers of sealer, we then buff the surface to produce a high gloss finish.
